The Haunted San Francisco Bay Area: 45-60 minutes  

This presentation displays images of the most haunted places in the San Francisco Bay together with fascinating historical information and updates on recent paranormal activity. In addition to well-known sites in the city of San Francisco including Alcatraz Island, this presentation will take you to the back alleys of Benicia, forgotten cemeteries of the East Bay, the infamous Brookdale Lodge nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountainsand countless other places in cities and towns all around the Bay Area. Designed as a general over-view of haunted places in the region, this presentation may be a useful orientation to visitors from out-of-state who are unfamiliar with the San Francisco Bay Area and its haunted history. 

Seeing Ghosts: why some people can see them and others cannot:  45-75 minutes 

Jeff Dwyer offers an intriguing answer to one of the most often asked questions. Both technical and psychic explanations are clarified, citing the best methodologies for seeing the spirit of a dead person. Suggestions are offered for enhancing one’s basic abilities in ways that may lead to more successful ghost hunts.

Capturing Evidence of Ghosts: what is the best way to do it?: 60-75 minutes 

Jeff Dwyer analyzes a wide variety of technical devices, revealing their potential to detect ghostly phenomena and some pitfalls in their use. Using a scientific perspective, Dwyer considers the accuracy, validity, and reliability of each device with respect to various theories of the nature of ghosts. He concludes with selection of the best device and appropriate methodology – audio phenomena in the form of EVP – and plays several audio recordings that reveal chilling ghostly activity. 

The Psychic Method of Paranormal Investigation: 45-75 minutes

The psychic method of paranormal is defined together with various techniques for detection of paranormal phenomena. Important issues such as validity, accuracy, reliability, bias, and contamination of psychic impression are discussed and illustrated. Methods of enhancing psychic awareness and sensitivity are outlined and, depending on the size of the audience, brief training is conducted.

Adventures of a Ghost Hunter: 45-60 minutes

Jeff Dwyer relates his personal history from his first paranormal experiences to fantastic adventures in some of America’s most haunted places. Images and recordings obtained on Alcatraz Island, The Myrtles in Louisiana, and little known places in Seattle, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Monterey, and South Carolina make for a fascinating and entertaining experience enhances curiosity about paranormal phenomena. Jeff Dwyer also relates his experiences filming TV shows, conducting radio interviews, and authoring nine books on paranormal topics.  

Paranormal Activity: the basics: 60-75 minutes 

Designed for the new-comer to the world of paranormal investigation, this presentation defines the different types of paranormal phenomena, ranging from ghosts to demons, phantoms to astral projection. Jeff Dwyer offers an explanation for each type of paranormal phenomena together with suggestions for the best methods for detecting them. This presentation is a good introductory experience for conference attendees: it deals with misconceptions that may detract from successful paranormal investigation.

Publishing Paranormal: 45-60 minutes   

With a list of nine books dealing with paranormal topics, Jeff Dwyer offers his expert opinion on several topics of interest to prospective author. Starting with the inspiration to write, Dwyer takes the audience through the essential steps of finding a niche, developing an idea, and finding a literary voice. From those ethereal topics, he delves into the machinery of the publishing business with valuable information about literary agents, editors, publishers, and marketing strategies. Several unique short-cuts are offered together with opportunities for members of the audience to get advice for launching a career as a paranormal author.
